Benefitting the Community:
There are opportunities in every community enabling unique combinations of talent, knowledge, abilities and vision to help worthy organizations. My best contributions are through my art.

Habitat for Humanity 2015... The inspiration for "One Home" (at left) is the idea that we create and strengthen community one home at a time. Habitat for Humanity’s mission to help provide good homes to people by bringing together sometimes widely separated resources creates a true community for all of the participants and recipients. This project again stared with a door from the Habitat for Humanity Resale Store in Conroe. Once I decided on the theme and did a sketch I cut all shapes out of masonite and cardboard, continuing the re-use of materials through out the piece. Since the painting is a mural of sorts, I used interior paint samples for the basic color areas, the details are done with acrylic paint. I used unique combinations of patterns on most of the surfaces to represent the rich texture of relationships formed through community and relationship building that enriches the life of everyone evolved. The faces are made with paper clay representing that, when all is said and done, community and home are indeed all about people. Montgomery County
Habitat for Humanity 2014... The theme year for the gala was 'There Is No Place Like Home". Twelve local artists donated pieces for the event. Mine was titled "Center of My World" (below) and helped raise money for the cause of giving families a place to call their own. |
A Symphony of Thanks... On January 25th, 2014 a wine and cheese reception recognizing the artists of The Woodlands Art League, who donated their time to create unique, musical pieces of art. The musical instruments were graciously donated by Lisle Violin Shop. Their donated art supports the The Woodlands High School Orchestra Program. These pieces of art will be displayed at the reception and are available for sale. The reception also featured a performance by TWHS Orchestra students. For more information, please visit our web site at www.twhsorchestra.org. To view the pieces available, please click on the Art of Music link.
