Acrylic Workshop: Basics and Beyond
Level: Beginners or those with some experience in other media

CLASS DESCRIPTION
This course presents students with the basic techniques and concepts that are common to various painting media, with the emphasis placed on the acrylic medium. Students will have the opportunity to paint still life and figures as well as from photographs and their own drawings and abstract designs.
Materials
Graphite Pencils: 2B,
Kneaded eraser
Palette : Something with a lip works the best including lids from food containers or paper plates, bring several.
Water Container
Paper Towels and or rags with bag for clean-up
Clothes protection
Neoprene or latex gloves-optional
Acrylic matte medium.
Paint: CAUTION some of the sets being sold are not suitable. Get a name brand such as Liquitex or Golden if possible, Master's Touch brand is fine.
Colors: Crimson Red or Cadmium Red Medium, Magenta, Cyan,
Cadmium Yellow, Sap Green, Mars
Black, Burnt Sienna, Burnt Umber, Yellow Ocher, Ultramarine Blue, a
large tube of Titanium White.
Canvas Board, Canvas Paper or Mixed Media Paper: 2-3 minimum 8.5" x 11" minimum to begin with
Palette knife(s) these can be the plastic sets or plastic disposable knives
Brushes : synthetic or made for acrylic: #10 or #12 flat , #6 or #8 flat or bright, #6 or #8 filbert, #4 or #6 round , & a liner (small barrel long hairs)
Sets are great. CAUTION Hair brushes are best for watercolors and may make a first experience with acrylics frustrating for beginners.
