This painting is directly inspired by the imagery of the South Pacific Islands. Many artists from the region, as well as from Australia use small dots to depict texure or direction for their images. Sometimes these dots may be interpreted as the life-force of the being depicted. That is what I've used in this painting to  inspire the viewer to enjoy how this garden is reacting to the central 'sun' and its stimulating warmth. During the recent disaster in Louisiana I crafted three small canvases using cheesecloth to create a mixed-media relief. The dark blue was just the color of the water in the  bayou and the dark rust is the color of the oil. Iridescent green is a reminder of some of the wildlife affected.
